This Privacy Policy explains how Happy Cash & Carry (we, us, our) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you contact us, place an order, or message us — including by phone and on WhatsApp. We are committed to handling your information lawfully, fairly and transparently, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to take and deliver your orders and to run our business: contact details, order information, billing details, and the content of calls or WhatsApp messages you send us so we can take your order and reply. We do not knowingly collect any special-category data, and our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

3. How we use your information
We use your information to take, confirm, price and deliver your orders; contact you about your order by phone, WhatsApp or message; issue invoices and keep records the law requires; answer your questions; provide customer support; and improve our products, prices and service.

4. Messaging & WhatsApp
We communicate with customers by phone and through the WhatsApp Business Platform. When you message us on WhatsApp, your message is delivered through WhatsApp/Meta and is also subject to WhatsApp’s and Meta’s own privacy terms. We use your number and messages only to handle your enquiry and your order. We may use an automated assistant to help take orders and answer questions quickly; a member of our team remains responsible for your order. We do not send marketing messages without your consent, and you can ask us to stop messaging you at any time.

5. Legal basis for processing
We process your information on the basis of performance of a contract, legal obligation, and our legitimate interests to run, secure and improve our business. Where we rely on consent — for example for optional marketing — you can withdraw it at any time.

6. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary: with delivery staff and drivers; payment and accounting providers; trusted service providers who help us operate, including WhatsApp/Meta; and where required by law or a valid legal request.

7. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above — typically for the duration of our business relationship, and afterwards only where the law requires us to retain records. We then delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your information; correct it; ask us to delete it; restrict or object to its use; and data portability. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) — www.cnpd.pt.
